The Associated Press At War With The Internet

Associated Press, the world largest news agency, is trying to outlaw any use of its content that has not been purchased and do not even recognize "Fair Use" as defined in sections 107 through 118 of the Copyright Act.

And this time, they are not just targeting content scraping sites but all the mainstream blogs, social bookmarking sites, news forums engines like Google.

Actually, Associated Press do not want to stop the use of their articles around the Web, but they want to get their part of any profit that their content may generate: when Google links to one of their articles in its search results, Adsense ads displayed on the search results pages generate profit for Google, so in AP view, it can be considered as a commercial use of their content.
