How to Clean Up Your Computer and Keep It Speedy

There are some basic things that the end computer user can do that will make all the difference in the world to a long and happy life with your PC. You just have to practice some ways to prevent and clean up PC errors before they happen. It starts with something that’s about as easy as doing the dishes. You have to take a soft cloth and alcohol swabs and clean it up. Dust it off. And make sure you keep it that way. Dirt and grime are the #1 offender to problems that will overheat and cause problems with your processor and fan.

After that, you want to keep out a lot of trash. Do you have programs and apps that you never use? Well, don’t keep them around. Do you have files that you no longer need access to? Well, that can get backed up to something like Google Drive, a thumbdrive, an external drive, or just deleted if they really serve no purpose. Make sure that you keep your folders organized. And compress when you can.

Then it is just a matter of using the tools that come with your operating system such as Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter.
